Thoughts In Mind Right Now

I notice that I've been too emotional now especially with regards to family matters. Whether I saw happy family or the one who cries in front of each other talking about their problems, I do cry a lot. I just can't keep my tears from falling down. I don't know what happens to me. My initial thought is that maybe I miss my family since we don't have a family bonding this summer. I am far away from them right now sine I'm having my on the job training. However, I think its not the main reason. From time to time, I thought of my family's past. Yes, I do have a broken family literally and I do have a broken family emotionally. There is a lack of emotional attachment towards my father. That is my problem. I can't reach my thoughts to him easily for I am afraid of what he might react. I don't think of him as a father. In front of him, I think of a boss following orders. In his side, he thinks that everything is okay, but for me it isn't. naaah... I think my post is too emotional. :(( I just feel like writing it. I hope you feel me too. It's almost 4am in here, goodnight friends.

Metrobank On-The-Job Training :)

Last week was my 3rd week on-the-job training at Metrobank. Since I was absent for one week due to a scheduled event of my networking business, there are delays on the compilation of my hours. Anyway, I had fun last week because I have many accomplished tasks. I pulled out the signature cards of the dormant accounts, prepared its letter of notice, and then encoded their names. I was also assigned of the pin mailers, so I have a direct interaction of their clients. At the end of the day, I was asked to close the pin mailers’ balance as well as the ATM cards. All the work I have during office hours eventually went into a daily routine task. I felt like I am part of the Metrobank employees since I also have my assigned work everyday.

Allow me to share to you my sort of “dislike” about being a Metrobank employee. Since you are dealing with people every minute of your office hours, you can’t eat during those times. (heheh) It doesn't mean that it is not allowed to eat, but you are facing your clients and for me, it is not a good ethic to eat in front of the client. I am also shy to eat my snack because I see the employees are very busy in their work.  What I did is that I will eat full lunch, with fruits or any dessert after. When the clock strikes 4pm, which is the closing of the bank for the customer, I eat my snack. Unlike other companies which they are in their office with no clients, they can eat their snack whenever they want. Just my opinion. J

My First Week On-the-Job Training at Metrobank

I have chosen Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company as my training ground for my job career in the future. This is where I want to experience my on-the-job training because there is a possibility that I would become their employee in the future. I am fortunate enough to accept me on my application and started right away after the holy week. I formerly started last April 13, 2012 at Iligan Main Branch located at Aguinaldo Street, Iligan City. Dressed up with my formal attire, I was a little late on my first day since I worked online at night and still adjusting on my time schedule. I was formerly introduced to my workmates in the bank. I saw familiar faces because many of them are graduates from MSU-IIT (my Alma matter^ ^). My tension was gone due to their warmth accommodation to me. Here’s what I have done during office hours:

First Day: Since the clearing area for checks has something to settle, I was temporarily assigned to new accounts. I was asked to manage the dormant accounts’ notice (encoded the names of dormant accounts, printed and put the letter on the envelop). I could have direct communication to the customer since I helped in processing new ATM’s and related transactions. I was also allowed to answer telephone calls. During my free time, I worked on the wrappers on the money and filing.

Second Day: There was a notice that pick-up deposit files needs to be arranged with corresponding content on each deposit account. With this, I checked all the files if it passed on the said requirements and filed it according to date. The files contain secret statements and must not share to others, so I can’t put in here what I have seen.

Third Day: Since the bank opened last Saturday due to BIR payments, I assigned to keep all the validation on Saturday’s transaction. In this work, I feel that I am a teller because there are people lining up for me to get their validation form. At first, I’m afraid to communicate to customers, but I managed it in the long run. Thanks to supportive employees who help me.

Fourth Day: Job rotation of the officers started this day. One of the officers got injured in her left arm. Due to this, paper works would be of her problem. So, I was assigned to be her left hand and from now on, I am involved in all her work transactions. At the end of the day, I was asked to close the ATM cards available as well as the pin mailers. That day, I learned a lot.

Fifth Day: Waiting for the clearing area, I was still assigned to the injured officer. My work was much clearer than before because instructions were not provided anymore. I solely look at my own work schedule just like what I did yesterday. I must not forget the previous instructions they gave because they will no longer be dictated hereafter.

Even if I am not mainly working with the computer and directed to cash transactions, it is still okay because officers explained to me why he/she is doing this transaction. They helped me visualize other banks' transactions aside from depositing and withdrawing of money. I usually stay inside the bank from 9am up to 7pm because I observed what employees are still doing inside while the bank is closed for customers.

My 1st Trip in Camiguin

Comiguin Island that is known as "Born of Fire" showcases the feeling of being loved by nature. Embraces by the beauty of the sea, the island is a lovely paradise that you could imagine. I love the feeling when I'm there because of the experiences I went through. ^ ^

I was at Camiguin Island last January 28-30, 2012 with my co-JPIANs (Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants- school related organization) to compete for the 20th Annual Regional Convention. Yes. We went there to take part of the convention. And guess what? Our school got the big crown! We are the over-all champion! As an officer of our local chapter, I am very proud!

I miss this!

The people here said that this island will arise during low tide.
Preferably, tourist must visit this island during sunrise.
At 10:00 the sun will strike hard that you could also see it's rays.
It is very beautiful here, really!

Are you familiar with this? It is called "swake" bisaya term for sea urchin.
They are lots of vendors offering this seafood. So yummy! :)

At around 8 in the morning, we went to the hotel where we stayed and pack our things. We immediately went to other tourist destinations. Other destinations we've visited: (Sorry guys, don't have pic)
  • Sunken Cemetery
  • Old Catarman Church Ruins
  • Via Cruzes, Old Volcano
That's all for now folks! ^ ^ Hope you guys enjoy my post. :)

Scientific Prediction of the Earthquake! Super TRUE!

Scientists are amazing! If only the people seen it before, we could perhaps prepare of what happen. But because it is just a prediction, we could hardly believe that it would really happen. OMG! Maybe there are more earthquakes to come because according to the prediction, February 7, 2012 is included. I hope no more!! :((

MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck off the coast of Negros Oriental on Monday, killing 7 people and causing panic in cities where buildings shook, authorities said.
The Philippine Institute for Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake measured Magnitude 6.9 at a relatively shallow depth of 10 kilometers, centered off the heavily populated central island province of Negros and Cebu.
Benito Ramos, chief of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), said 7 people were killed after the quake. The fatalities came from Negros Oriental, he said.
"Two of the fatalities were children who were hit by falling walls," he said in a press conference.
He said the violent shaking of buildings in Cebu City -- roughly 50 kilometers from where the quake struck -- led to broken windows and cracks on the walls, but no high rises were believed to have sustained major damage.
Philippine seismologists and local residents said there was panic in Cebu - the country's second biggest city with 2.3 million people -- but no immediate reports of casualties or major damage.
"I was having lunch when the ground shook. Water spilled from glasses and plates clanked. Some of the diners rushed outside, some of us stayed underneath the tables," Pedro Baldomino, a student in Cebu, told AFP by telephone.
He said he saw many office workers in downtown Cebu leaving their buildings after a public announcement on radio told the public to brace for expected aftershocks.
But Ramos said there was no need to reinforce emergency crews in Negros and Cebu because it appeared the damage was not widespread. He said there are 3 battalions on standby in Negros Oriental.
"Windows were broken and one small mall in Negros had cracks on its walls, but it wasn't that destructive," Ramos said, adding that it was felt in varying intensities in both islands.
"We are expecting aftershocks, but we have already advised the public about these," he said.
He clarified that the tsunami alert was already lifted at 2:30 p.m. Sea voyage in the affected areas were cancelled for the day, he said.
Phivolcs raised its tsunami warning to the second of a three-stop alert level for coastal areas in Negros, meaning the public is asked to stay away from beaches and "be watchful" for any signs of rising tides.
However, level two does not warrant any evacuation.
Ramos said the chances of a tsunami or a tidal wave were very slim because the quake's epicenter was located on a narrow strait between two islands.
The Philippines sits on the Pacific "Ring of Fire" -- a belt around the Pacific Ocean where friction between shifting tectonic plates causes frequent earthquakes and volcanic activity.
Power out, classes suspended
Ramos said parts of the Visayas had no power after the quake knocked down power lines.
Several schools suspended classes in the cities of Bacolod and Kabankalan as a precautionary measure to possible aftershocks.
Iloilo City Mayor Jed Mabilog ordered all work and classes suspended in the city after the earthquake.
Mabilog said the quake was felt at Intensity 5 in the city, followed by several aftershocks.
"For now, nag freeze lahat ng operations ng Iloilo. Wala tayong offices, pinaka-cancel lahat ng offices for both public and private and that includes the schools. Commercial establishments and malls have been ordered closed temporarily to ensure the public's safety," he told ANC.
He said the power supply was also shut down to check if power lines are down and to avoid accidents.
Mayor Reynaldo Tuanda of Jimalalud said the town got the brunt of the quake and damaged a long bridge, rendering it impassable to vehicles.
He said one boy was killed after a wall of a chapel collapsed, pinning the victim.  With Agence France-Presse
